About the event

Mission Zero is a non-competitive challenge where children write computer code that will be sent to the International Space Station (ISS).

This is a great opportunity for children 14 and under to learn and write code in python and get it run in the International space station.

The code created by the participants is going to do three things on a Raspberry Pi computer on the ISS:

  1. Show a message.
  2. Display an image on the screen.
  3. Measure the relative humidity aboard the space station.

Programs that are successfully submitted are guaranteed to run in space! In addition, each team member will receive an electronic certificate recording the exact start and end time of their program’s run on the ISS — a personal piece of space science history to keep!

Join us virtually for a free workshop to get guidance on completing the challenge!
